Sell fonts on Esano

Esano accepts four font formats: TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2. Each font file must pass a structure check before buyers can download it.

Accepted font files

• TTF (TrueType)
• OTF (OpenType)
• WOFF and WOFF2 (web fonts)

Other font formats, such as TTC collections or EOT, aren't accepted. Each file can be up to 1 GB, and a listing can hold 5 files. See file size and count limits.

What the font check looks for

Esano opens each font and checks its structure. A font passes when:

• It has the standard core tables (head, cmap and maxp).
• It has a Unicode character map.
• It has between 1 and 100,000 glyphs.
• Every table can be read. Fonts with custom or unreadable tables are refused.
• There's no extra data hidden after the font ends.
• It doesn't use SVG color glyph tables or a digital signature (DSIG) table.
• The file really is the format its extension says. A TTF renamed to .otf is blocked.

If a font is blocked, Esano shows one of these messages:

• "This version of the format isn't supported. Export it again with standard settings."
• "This file is damaged or couldn't be read. Export it again and upload the new file."
• "This file is too large or complex to check. Make it smaller or split it into several files."
• "This file has extra data after its end. Export it again from the original app."

Re-export the font from your font editor with standard settings, and remove color SVG glyphs or signatures if you used them. See fix a blocked file.

Sell a font family

You have two choices:

1. Upload up to 5 font files directly, for example the main weights.
2. Put the whole family in a ZIP. Every font inside is checked on its own, and the ZIP counts as one file. See ZIP files for listings.

Photos for a font listing

Buyers can't try a font before they buy, so show it. Add photos with specimens: the alphabet, numerals, sample words and the font in use. Photos are separate from the font files. See preview photos vs delivered files.

Find the right category

Put fonts in the Fonts and Alphabets category so buyers browsing https://esano.com/c/fonts-and-alphabets find them. See choose the right category and file details. On a listing, the formats show under Fonts in the buyer's file type filter. See automatic file formats.
