Replace files on a live listing

Use Replace all files under Files buyers download. Your current files stay available until every new file passes its check, then the whole set swaps at once.

Replace the whole set

1. Go to Listings and open the listing.
2. In Files buyers download, select Replace all files.
3. Choose all the new files together. You can choose up to 5 files of up to 1 GB each, 5 GB combined.
4. Wait while the message reads "Checking. Your current files stay available until the entire replacement is ready."
5. When it says "Ready. Your replacement files are saved.", the swap is done.

The new set replaces the old one completely. Files you don't choose again are gone, so include everything the listing should deliver.

If a new file fails

If any file in the replacement is blocked or the check fails, nothing swaps. You'll see "The replacement is not ready. Review the file checks below. Your current files remain available." Fix the problem file and run Replace all files again. See fix a blocked file.

Replace one file instead

You can also use Remove on a single file and Add files for its replacement.

• A live listing must keep at least one file. Esano refuses to remove the last one and tells you to unpublish first or add another.
• If the listing already has 5 files, you must remove one before adding another.
• A removed file is no longer delivered to anyone.

Use Replace all files if you want the old files to stay live during the check. Removing a file takes it off immediately.

What buyers get

• New buyers get the files that are Ready when they buy.
• Past buyers download from the listing's current files in their Purchases page. After a replacement, they see the new files there. See what happens if a shop replaces a file I bought.
• Only approved files can be downloaded. A buyer never gets a file that is still checking or blocked.

Esano doesn't convert or edit your files. Buyers get what you uploaded. If the change matters, such as a new version or a fix, tell your past buyers in a message. See contact a buyer about an order.

The listing's formats update by themselves

When you add, remove or replace files, Esano recalculates the file formats shown on the listing. If a replacement fails partway, the previous formats stay. See automatic file formats.

When a live file gets blocked
