A blocked file broke a rule or was flagged as a virus. You can't retry or override it. Fix the cause, then upload a new copy.
Find the reason
Esano shows the reason in the File checks list under the uploader, next to the file name. For files already on a listing, the editor lists each one as "file name: reason". A live listing with a problem file also shows a Needs new file badge, and buyers can't see the listing until it is fixed. See what listing statuses mean.

This file didn't pass our safety check. Replace it with a different file. A general message when no more specific reason is available.
Upload a replacement
- Fix the file in the app you made it in, and export it again.
- Open your listing and go to Photos and files → Files buyers download.
- Select Add files and choose the new file. If the listing already has 5 files, use Remove on the blocked one first, or use Replace all files.
- Wait for Ready. The Needs new file badge goes away once every file passes.
On a live listing, Replace all files is the safest way to swap files, because the old files stay available until the whole new set is ready. See replace files on a live listing.
To clear a blocked row you don't need, select Cancel on it. Blocked files are deleted from storage after 30 days.
Common questions
Can I retry a blocked file?
No. Blocked is permanent for that upload. Fix the file and upload a new copy.
Why does my listing say Needs new file?
A file on your live listing failed its check. Buyers can't see the listing until you replace that file with one that passes.
