How Esano detects your file formats

You don't set file formats on a listing. Esano reads your uploaded files after they pass the safety check and shows the formats it finds to buyers.

How it works

• The formats come from the files you upload. Esano confirms each one by reading its contents, not by trusting the name.
• Saving your listing details never changes the formats.
• JPEG and JPG show as JPG, and TIF and TIFF show as TIFF.
• The formats come only from files that are Ready, not from files still checking or blocked.

ZIP contents

For a ZIP, Esano lists the supported formats of everything inside, including ZIPs inside ZIPs, and puts those first. ZIP stays in the list too, so buyers who filter by ZIP still find it. See ZIP files for listings.

A ZIP counts as one download. Its contents don't add to your file count.

Documents with embedded parts

A DOCX, XLSX, EPUB or similar file keeps its document format. Pictures, fonts and XML inside it aren't listed as separate downloads.

Where buyers see the formats

• Listing cards show up to two format badges, plus a count of any extra formats.
• The listing page shows the full set.
• The File type filter groups formats like this: Images, Vector, PDF & printables, Documents & ebooks, Spreadsheets & data, Presentations, Fonts, 3D models and Embroidery.

When formats update

The formats refresh on their own when you:

• add a file
• remove the last file of a format
• replace all files

If a replacement fails partway, the previous formats stay in place. Existing approved files stay available while a rescan runs. See replace files on a live listing.

What detection doesn't tell buyers

Esano doesn't guess what software opens a file, its resolution (DPI) or its license. Add resolution in file specs, set prices for each license in license options, and name the software in your listing description.
