Install a font you bought

Install the TTF or OTF file on your computer, then restart your design app. WOFF and WOFF2 files are web fonts and usually aren't meant for installing.

Before you install

1. Download the font from Purchases and reviews. See download files you bought.
2. Unzip it if it came as a ZIP. See download several files or a ZIP.
3. Find the .ttf or .otf file in the folder.

Esano accepts four font types: TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2.

Install on Windows

1. Right-click the .ttf or .otf file.
2. Select Install, or Install for all users if you want every account to see it.
3. Restart your app.

Install on Mac

1. Double-click the .ttf or .otf file.
2. In the preview window, select Install Font.
3. Font Book opens. Restart your app.

Fonts on phones and tablets

Installing fonts on a phone or tablet usually needs an app that supports custom fonts. Many people install the font on a computer instead. See open Esano downloads on a phone or tablet.

What WOFF and WOFF2 are

These are web fonts, built to be loaded by a website. Desktop apps such as Word, Canva or Cricut Design Space usually need TTF or OTF. If the listing only shows WOFF or WOFF2 and you wanted a font for a desktop app, message the shop before you buy.

If the font doesn't appear

• Close and reopen the app.
• Check the font is in your system's font list. On Windows, look in Settings → Personalization → Fonts. On Mac, open Font Book.
• Download the font again if the file seems damaged. See fix a file that won't open or looks wrong.
