Your first photo is your cover. Its square crop is the image shoppers see on cards in search results, categories, Trending and your shop grid, so make it clear at a small size.

Where your photos show

  • The cover's square crop is on every listing card, next to your title, price, file types and, once you have reviews, your rating.
  • Up to five photos are in the gallery on your listing page, shown as full images. The first is the cover, and you can drag to reorder.
  • Search engines and social apps can use the cover as the image when a link to your listing or shop is shared. A shop page uses the image of its newest listing.

Esano adds a text description to each photo from your listing title, such as "Retro Cat Illustrations preview". A clear title makes your photos easier to understand for screen readers and search engines. See Write a listing title buyers search for.

Size and format

  • Format: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB each.
  • Crop: when you upload a photo, you choose a square crop for cards. The listing gallery still shows the full image, and your purchased files are never cropped.
  • Size: the crop must be at least 1000 by 1000 pixels. The editor recommends 2000 by 2000 pixels or more, which looks sharpest.
  • Count: up to 5 photos per listing.

If a crop is too small, the editor tells you to choose a larger image or zoom out. To change the crop later, use Crop on the photo in the editor.

Make the cover work

Shoppers scroll a grid of small cards, so the cover has to read in a second. These are general design tips, not Esano rules:

  • Show the product, large. Fill the crop with the artwork, not a tiny design on a big blank background.
  • Show it in use. A mockup on a shirt or mug helps buyers picture a printable or a sublimation design.
  • Keep text short. Small text turns to a blur on a phone-sized card.
  • Match the file. The cover should show what's in the download, not something you don't deliver.
  • Make the first photo different from the next. Use the other four to show what's included, sizes or ways to use it.

Your listing's card also shows up to two file type tags and, when you've entered a size, a size tag such as 4000×4000. You don't need to repeat those in the image.

Why a new listing may be hidden

Esano checks every photo after upload. A listing needs at least one approved photo to appear in search, categories, Trending, collections and your shop page. If you just published and don't see it yet, the check may still be running.

Common questions

Which photo is the cover?

The first photo in your listing's photo list is the cover. Drag photos in the editor to change the order.

What size should listing photos be?

Upload an image at least 1000 by 1000 pixels. The editor recommends 2000 pixels or more for the sharpest result. Photos can be JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB each.

Why isn't my new listing visible yet?

Photos are checked after you upload them. Until at least one photo passes, the listing stays out of search, browse and shop pages.
