Editors' collections are hand-picked or rule-based sets of listings, such as a seasonal theme. Esano's editors choose them. There isn't a way to apply from your seller hub, but there's a lot you can do to be a good fit.
How collections are built
You can see them at Editors' Collections. Each collection has a title, a short intro and a set of listings. Esano's editors build a collection in one of two ways:
- Picked by hand: an editor chooses each listing.
- Built from a rule: an editor sets criteria and Esano fills the collection. A rule can use tags, categories, file types, a price range, and an order such as Trending, newest, best selling or best rated. It can also require things like a minimum shop rating, a minimum number of sales or a minimum shop age. Editors can pin specific listings to the top and limit how many listings come from one shop.
Some collections run for a season. A seasonal collection only shows during its dates. Outside them, its page says "Back next season" and links to the collections that are live. See Browse editors' collections for what shoppers see.
What a listing needs
Whatever the method, a listing is only shown if it is for sale right now:
- It is live, with an approved photo.
- Your shop has payments set up.
- Your shop isn't on vacation.
- It hasn't been removed by Esano.
A collection page also needs at least 4 listings for sale to be listed in search engines. Smaller ones are kept out until they grow.
Be a good fit
You can't ask for a spot, but these things matter when editors and rules look for listings:
- Use accurate search keywords. Rules can match listings by tag, such as "halloween". See Choose search keywords for a listing.
- Choose the right category. Rules can match on category too. See Choose the right category and file details.
- Keep your shop in good standing. Rules can leave out shops that are new, rated low or have an open report against them.
- Publish before the season. A seasonal collection runs for a limited time, so publish themed listings ahead of it.
- Make a cover that shows the product. Collections are browsed by picture. See Choose listing photos that get clicks.
Other editor-chosen spots
The home page has rows chosen by Esano's editors, including picked listings and a "Shops to know" row of hand-picked shops. The same applies here: there's no application, and every listing and shop shown must be for sale and open.
Collections and home rows are separate from Trending, which ranks by shopper activity. See How the Trending page ranks listings.
Common questions
Can I apply to have my listing in a collection?
There is no form or setting for it in your seller hub. Esano's editors choose what goes in, so the best step is a complete, accurate listing.
Why is a collection page missing from Google?
A collection with fewer than 4 listings for sale, or one that's out of season, is kept out of search engines until it qualifies.
Will my listing stay in a collection if my shop goes on vacation?
No. Collections only show listings that are for sale right now, so a shop on vacation drops out until it's back.
