Shop groups are labels you make to organize your own listings, like "Christmas" or "Wedding". Create them in Settings → Shop → Shop groups, then add listings to them.
What shop groups are
- A group is a name you choose. A listing can be in several groups, or none.
- Buyers see your groups as tabs on your shop page, after All items, with the number of items in each. Selecting a tab filters your shop. See how your shop page looks to buyers.
- Each listing page also links to its groups under "Browse [shop name] by group".
- You can have up to 10 groups, and each name can be up to 24 characters.
Groups are separate from categories and from search keywords. Groups only organize your shop.
Create a group
- Open your seller hub and go to Settings → Shop.
- Find Shop groups and type a name in the box, such as "Candy Canes".
- Select Add.
The hint under the box shows how many you've used, for example "3 of 10 used" and the 24-character limit. The name needs some letters or numbers. Names that differ only by capitals or punctuation count as the same group, and Esano will tell you "You already have a group called" the existing one.
When you reach 10, the add box goes away and the page says "You're using all 10 groups. Delete one to add another."
Rename or reorder a group
- In Shop groups, select the group's name.
- A row opens with the group's name and its listing count. Select the count to see those listings.
- Select Rename, type the new name and select Save. Or select Move earlier or Move later to change its position.
The order you set is the order buyers see on your shop page.
Delete a group
- Select the × on the group's chip.
- Read the message, "It comes off" a number of listings, and the listings stay as they are.
- Select Delete group, or Cancel to keep it.
Who can manage groups
The Shop tab in Settings is available to the owner and Managers. The Listings role doesn't see Settings, but can create groups and tick them on a listing from the listing editor. See add listings to shop groups. Support members can't make groups. For the full list of roles, see shop team roles and what each can do.
A group with no items shows greyed out on your shop page. For more on keeping your shop tidy, see find and change your shop settings.
Common questions
How many shop groups can I have?
Up to 10 per shop. Each group name can be up to 24 characters.
Are shop groups the same as categories or search keywords?
No. Categories are set by Esano and search keywords help buyers find a listing. Shop groups are your own labels for sorting your shop.
Do I lose listings if I delete a group?
No. Deleting a group only removes the label. The listings stay exactly as they are.
