What sellers can see about you

Updated

A shop sees your first name, your profile photo if you have one, and your orders with that shop. It does not see your email address, billing address or card details on the order page.

What a shop sees when you buy

On the order page in a seller's dashboard, the Buyer section shows:

  • Your first name, or "Esano buyer" if you have not set one.
  • Your profile photo, if you added one.
  • How many orders you have placed with that shop and the year you first bought from it, for example "Buying since 2026."
  • Links to your other orders with that shop, and to your conversation with the shop if you have talked.

Each item on the order also shows whether you downloaded it and how many times, or "Not downloaded yet."

Shop team members who have access to orders see the same buyer details. Read shop team roles and what each can do for how sellers share access.

What a shop sees when you contact it

  • Messages. The shop reads what you write in your conversation. If message emails are on for the seller, Esano's notification includes your first name. See message a shop on Esano.
  • Refund requests. The shop sees the reason, the details you wrote and whether you attached a screenshot. See request a refund.
  • Custom orders. The shop sees the request you send and the conversation about it. See how custom orders work.

Only share what you are comfortable with. Don't put your password, card number or other sensitive details in a message.

What a shop sees when you leave a review

Your review appears on the listing with the name and photo from your account, plus any photo you attach. To change them, see change your name on Esano and add or change your profile photo.

What a shop sees when you visit

Shops see how many visits their shop and listings get, and a broad source, such as Esano search or a category page. They do not see who visited. Read cookies and tracking on Esano.

Common questions

Can a seller see my email address?

Not on the order page. A shop sees your first name, photo and order history with that shop, but the order page does not show your email, billing address or card details.

Can a seller see that I downloaded my files?

Yes. The seller's order page shows how many times each item was downloaded, or "Not downloaded yet."
