Add or change your profile photo

To add a profile photo, open Account settings, select Upload photo in the Your photo row, choose an image and crop it. Your photo shows on reviews you write and in messages.

Upload and crop a photo

1. Sign in to esano.com.
2. Open the account menu in the site header and select Account settings.
3. In the Your photo row, select Upload photo. If you already have a photo, the button says Change photo.
4. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device.
5. In the Crop profile photo window, drag the image so your face sits inside the circle.
6. Optional: use the Zoom, Horizontal and Vertical sliders to fine-tune, or select Reset crop to start over.
7. Select Use crop.

When it works, the page says "Profile photo saved." Your new photo also replaces your initial in the account menu.

Photo requirements

• File type: still JPG, PNG or WebP. Animated images don't work.
• File size: up to 10 MB.
• Image size: up to 40 megapixels.
• Crop: always a square, at least 500 × 500 pixels. Esano recommends 1000 × 1000 pixels. Larger photos are scaled down to 1000 × 1000 pixels when saved.

Esano saves your photo as a new image file. This removes hidden camera and location details (EXIF data) that some phones add to pictures.

Where your photo shows

• In the account menu in the site header.
• On reviews you write.
• In messages.

Remove your photo

1. Open Account settings.
2. In the Your photo row, select Remove photo.

The page says "Profile photo removed." and your initial shows again in a circle.

Fix photo problems

• "Use a JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 10 MB." Pick a different file type or a smaller file.
• "Images can be up to 40 megapixels." Choose a smaller image, or resize it on your device first.
• "Use a crop of at least 500 × 500 pixels. Choose a larger image or zoom out." Your image is too small for a square this size. Pick a larger image or move the Zoom slider left.
• "The upload didn't go through. Try again." Check your connection and upload again.

The safety check

After you select Use crop, Esano checks the image before it's saved. A status line may show steps like "Scanning for viruses" and "Finishing up". Wait for "Profile photo saved." If a check fails, the line shows Retry check and Cancel. Select Retry check, or choose a different image.
