Four things can come out of your payout: Stripe's payout fees, Stripe's fee for a failed payout when wrong bank details caused it, any amount your shop owes Esano, and the actual cost of filing your annual tax form. Nothing else is deducted.
1. Stripe's payout fees
Stripe charges $2 for each calendar month in which you receive a payout, plus 0.25% + 25¢ per payout. Esano deducts them from that payout at Stripe's cost, with no markup, and itemizes them. See Stripe payout fees explained.
2. A failed payout fee, only when you caused it
If a payout fails or comes back, Stripe may charge a fee. Esano deducts that fee only when incorrect bank details you provided caused the problem. In any other case, Esano pays it. Only a real charge from Stripe is deducted, without markup.
If Esano can't establish the cause, Esano pays the fee. See fix a failed or returned payout.
3. Money your shop owes Esano
A refund or a lost dispute can be bigger than your balance. When that happens, the difference is recorded as an amount you owe Esano. Esano tells you the amount and the reason, then offsets it against your future earnings before any bank payout.
Esano does not debit your bank account for it. See negative balances and amounts you owe.
4. The cost of your annual tax form
Esano deducts the actual cost of filing your annual tax form (Form 1099-K) from your next payout. The deduction never takes that payout below zero. Anything left over carries to later payouts until it is recovered.
Your Payouts page shows what is still to be deducted. If your shop closes before the cost is recovered, Esano absorbs the rest. For details, see tax costs and fees for sellers and Form 1099-K and your Esano sales.
How the $25 minimum treats deductions
A payout needs at least $25 to send after deductions, including Stripe's fees for that payout. If your eligible earnings are under that, they wait for the next payout Friday. See payout schedule and the $25 minimum.
Where you see each deduction
- Your Payouts page shows a note when money is reserved for estimated provider fees. It is reconciled to the actual charges later.
- Balance history lists every movement with its activity and reference. Download a monthly statement to see all of them.
