Stripe charges $2 for each calendar month in which you receive a payout, plus 0.25% + 25¢ for each payout. Esano deducts these from the payout at Stripe's cost, with no markup, and shows them on every payout.
What counts as a payout
A payout is money sent to your bank. Esano first moves your earnings to your Stripe account, then sends a bank payout. Only the bank payout carries these fees. A transfer into your Stripe balance is not a bank payout.
The two fees
- $2 monthly fee. Charged once for each calendar month in which you receive a payout. A second payout in the same month doesn't pay it again.
- 0.25% + 25¢ per payout. Charged on every payout.
Payouts run every other Friday, so a month usually has two or three. The first one in a month carries the $2.
Examples
The examples use the published rates. Esano reserves an estimated fee when it builds a payout, and then reconciles to what Stripe actually charges.
$50.00 eligible, first payout of the month
- Fees: $2.00 + $0.25 + $0.12 (0.25% of the amount sent, rounded up) = about $2.37
- You receive: about $47.63
$100.00 eligible, first payout of the month
- Fees: $2.00 + $0.25 + $0.25 = about $2.50
- You receive: about $97.50
$100.00 eligible, second payout in the same month
- Fees: $0.25 + $0.25 = about $0.50
- You receive: about $99.50
Why the $25 minimum isn't the same as $25 of earnings
Esano needs at least $25 to send after deductions, including Stripe's fees for that payout. In a month's first payout, you need about $27.32 in eligible earnings to send $25.00. In a later payout the same month, about $25.32.
Below that, your earnings wait for the next payout Friday and nothing is charged. A payout that never leaves doesn't create a fee. See payout schedule and the $25 minimum.
Where you see the fees
- A note on Payouts shows how much is reserved for estimated provider fees.
- Balance history itemizes every fee, and the monthly CSV includes them.

Failed payouts and final payouts
- If a payout fails or comes back, you pay the failed payout fee only when incorrect bank details you provided caused it. Otherwise Esano pays it.
- When your shop closes, a final payout under $25 is sent without Stripe's fees. Esano pays them. See close your shop and get the final payout.
Common questions
Does Esano mark up Stripe's payout fees?
No. They are deducted at Stripe's cost, without markup, and itemized on every payout.
Do I pay the $2 more than once a month?
No. It applies once for each calendar month in which you receive a payout, however many payouts you get that month.
Is a transfer to my Stripe balance a payout?
No. A payout means money sent to your bank. A transfer to your Stripe balance is the step before it and isn't a bank payout.
