Each row in Recent bank payouts on your Payouts page has a status: reserved, transfer pending, bank pending, paid, failed, returned or unknown. Only paid means Stripe sent the money to your bank.
The statuses
- Reserved: Esano set the money aside for this payout. Nothing has moved yet. The next step column reads "Awaiting verification or bank processing."
- Transfer pending: Esano is moving your earnings into your Stripe account. This is the step before the bank payout and isn't a bank payout.
- Bank pending: Stripe is sending the payout to your bank. Money in reserved, transfer pending, bank pending and unknown payouts all counts under Bank payout pending at the top of the page.
- Paid: Stripe sent the money to your bank. The next step reads "Sent to bank." Your bank's own processing time follows Stripe's estimate in Expected arrival.
- Failed: the payout didn't go through. The next step shows the reason and a link, Review bank details on Stripe.
- Returned: your bank sent the money back. It is handled like a failed payout.
- Unknown: Esano can't yet confirm what Stripe did. The next step reads "Esano is checking the provider outcome."
Money in a failed or returned payout stays yours. Esano keeps it owed and restores it to your payable balance. It is not sent twice.
What to do for each
- Reserved, transfer pending or bank pending. Nothing. Check back later. If a payout stays here past its payout Friday, see why a payout is late or paused.
- Paid. Wait for Expected arrival. Bank processing time and bank holidays can add delay.
- Failed or returned. Select Review bank details on Stripe, fix what's wrong and see fix a failed or returned payout.
- Unknown. Don't do anything. Esano confirms the real outcome before it retries, so money is never sent twice.
When a retry is scheduled, the next step adds "retry scheduled."
Transfer versus bank payout
Your earnings take two steps:
- A transfer from Esano to your Stripe account.
- A bank payout from your Stripe account to your bank.
The order badge Transferred to Stripe means step 1 happened. Stripe's payout fees apply to step 2 only. See Stripe payout fees explained and order payout badges.
Why only one payout at a time
Esano keeps one active payout per shop. A new payout isn't built while an earlier one is still reserved, in transfer, pending at the bank or unknown.
Common questions
What does "Not confirmed" under Expected arrival mean?
Stripe hasn't given an arrival date yet. The date appears once Stripe has an estimate.
Is "Transferred to Stripe" the same as being paid?
No. A transfer to your Stripe balance is not a bank payout. Money has reached your bank only when the status is paid.
