Keep your Esano account secure

Use a strong password you don't use anywhere else, never share your codes, secure your email account, and sign out on shared devices. These habits protect your account best.

Protect your password

• Use at least 8 characters. Longer is safer. See password requirements.
• Use a password you don't use on other sites.
• Never share your password. Esano's Terms of Use ask you to keep it confidential.
• Change it if you think it's been exposed. See change your password.

Protect your email account

Esano sends sign-in and password reset codes to your email. Anyone who can read your email can use those codes. Secure your email with a strong, unique password and any extra protection it offers. Esano's password-changed email suggests the same.

Never share a code

Every Esano code email says: "don't share this code with anyone. Esano will never ask you for it." That applies to sign-up, sign-in and password reset codes. If someone asks for a code, whether by message, email or phone, it isn't Esano.

If you get a code you didn't ask for, ignore it. You don't have to do anything, and your password won't change.

Use shared devices carefully

• Uncheck Stay signed in on any computer that isn't yours.
• Select Sign out from the account menu when you finish.
• If you forgot, use Sign out of all devices from your own device. See sign out of Esano.

Watch for password-change emails

Esano emails you when your password changes. The subject is "Your Esano password was changed." If you did it, nothing else is needed. If you didn't, follow someone else accessed my account.

Check your signed-in devices

Lost a phone or tablet? Go to Account settings → Security and select Sign out of all devices. Then sign in again on the devices you still use.

Keep your email address current

Your email is where codes and account emails go. If you change email providers, update your address in Account settings. See change your email address on Esano.
