Why can't I check out?

Checkout shows a message under the Check out button when something in your cart needs fixing. Find your message below.

The Check out button is off

The button stays off in these cases:

• Your cart is still loading. Wait a moment.
• Your paid items total under $3. Add more, or see the $3 cart minimum.
• A shop is on vacation. The line says "[Shop name] is on vacation. You can't purchase this right now." Select Remove on that item.
• A license is no longer offered. The line says "The seller no longer offers this license." Select Switch to Personal or Remove.

Messages after you select Check out

• "Sign in to check out. Your cart is saved." Sign in and try again. See do I need an account to check out.
• "Your cart is empty." Add an item first.
• "Something in your cart is no longer for sale. Remove it to check out." A listing was removed or unpublished. Reopen your cart drawer and remove the item that looks wrong.
• "[Shop name] isn't taking orders right now. Remove [item] to check out." The shop can't take paid orders at the moment. Remove its item or try again later.
• "[Shop name] is on vacation. Remove [item] to check out." Remove the item and check out without it.
• "You can't buy from your own shop. Remove [item] to check out." This also applies to a shop you help run.
• "[Shop name] no longer offers that license for [item]." Go back to the listing and pick a license that is offered.
• "Add $X more to check out. Esano has a $3.00 cart minimum." Add more paid items.
• "A shop in your paid cart cannot accept new paid sales right now. Free items can be claimed separately." Remove that shop's paid items, or claim your free items on their own.
• "Payment eligibility could not be checked. Try again shortly." Wait a few minutes and try again.
• "We couldn't load your cart. Try again." or "We couldn't start checkout. Try again." Close the drawer, reopen it and try again.
• "Too many checkout attempts. Wait 10 minutes and try again." See too many checkout attempts.

Everything looks fine but it still won't work

Reload the page and try again. If the same message keeps coming back, contact Esano support and tell us the exact message.

If the payment page opens but payment fails

That is a different problem. See payment declined or failed.
