Add, remove or choose a saved card

Updated

Open Account settings → Payments to add a card, remove one or choose the card selected at checkout. Cards saved at checkout appear here too.

Add a card

  1. Sign in to Esano.
  2. Open your account menu and select Account settings.
  3. Select Payments.
  4. In Cards, select Add a card.
  5. Fill in Stripe's card and billing address fields.
  6. Select Save card.
  7. Complete any verification your bank requests. If it opens another page, return to Esano to finish.

Select Cancel to close the form without completing the save. Adding a card doesn't place an order.

When saved, the card shows its brand, last four digits and expiry. If you don't already have a default card, the new card becomes your default.

Choose your default card

Select Make default beside the card you want. It gets a Default label and is selected for your next checkout. You can choose a different card when paying.

Your default billing address is a separate setting. See manage saved billing addresses.

Remove or replace a card

Select Remove beside a card to stop offering it at checkout. If you remove the default, another saved card becomes the default. If none remain, you enter a card at your next paid checkout.

To replace an expired card or change its number, select Add a card, save the replacement, then remove the old card. There is no card-edit action.

Removing a card doesn't cancel an order or refund a payment.

If your cards don't load or save

  • "No saved cards." means your account has no cards to display.
  • "We couldn't load your saved cards. Refresh the page to try again." means the list couldn't load. Refresh before trying to add or remove a card.
  • If saving or verification fails, follow the error shown by Stripe or Esano and try again. See payment declined or failed.

Only enter card details in the payment fields opened from Esano. Don't send card numbers or security codes in messages or email. Read payment methods and currency before paying.

Common questions

Does adding a card buy anything?

No. Adding a card saves it for a later checkout. Complete checkout separately to buy files.

Where are my saved cards stored?

Stripe stores the saved payment method. Esano shows its brand, last four digits, expiry and default status, not the full card number.

Can I edit a saved card's number?

There is no Edit action for a card. Add the replacement card and remove the old one.
