To ask a shop for a custom order, open its Request a custom order form, describe what you need and select Send request. You aren't charged when you send it.
Send your request
- Open the shop's page, or a listing that shows Want this personalized?, and select the request button. See Find shops that take custom orders.
- Sign in or create an account if Esano asks. You need an account so the shop can send you a quote and your files.
- Under What do you need?, write your brief. Use 20 to 2,000 characters. Include sizes, colors, wording and anything that matters.
- Optional: next to Reference images, select Add images and choose up to 5 files.
- Under Files you need, tick every type you want, for example PNG, SVG, PDF, Canva template or an embroidery format (see File types you can buy on Esano). If you aren't sure, tick Not sure.
- Under How will you use them?, choose Personal (my own event, home, or a gift) or Commercial (for clients, or products I sell).
- Optional: fill in Budget and Need by.
- If the shop asks questions, answer them. Each answer can be up to 500 characters.
- Select Send request.
Reference images
Reference images can be JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, up to 10 MB each. Only the shop and Esano support can see them. Images upload after the request is created. If one fails, the request still goes through, and the page tells you how many didn't upload. Messages are text only, so you can't attach the missing images there. Describe them to the shop in words instead.
Budget and date
Budget is a range, like $40 to $60. Enter dollar amounts such as 40 or 60. The top of the range must be at least the bottom. Need by must be a future date. The shop sees both. The shop's quote sets the actual price and delivery date.
Personal or commercial
Your answer tells the shop how you plan to use the files so it can quote the right license. The license in the quote is what applies to your finished files. See Licenses for custom orders.
After you send it
Esano takes you to your request page with the message "Request sent to {shop name}. We emailed you a copy." The shop has 3 days to reply with a quote, ask you a question in Messages, or decline. If it doesn't reply in time, the request expires and nothing is charged.
Until the shop replies, you can:
- Select Add a message to talk to the shop.
- Select Withdraw request to close it. Nothing is charged.
Next, see Review a custom order quote.
Common questions
What reference images can I attach?
JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF files, up to 10 MB each and up to 5 per request. Only the shop and Esano support can see them.
How long should my brief be?
Between 20 and 2,000 characters. Include sizes, colors, wording and anything else that matters.
Does my budget limit what the shop quotes?
No. Your budget tells the shop what you have in mind. The shop still sets the price in its quote, and you choose whether to accept it.
