A quote is the shop's offer for your request. It stays open for 7 days, and you aren't charged until you accept and pay.
What a quote shows
When the shop replies with a quote, you get an email and the status becomes Quote waiting for you. Open the request from Your account → Custom requests. The section Quote from {shop name} shows:
- Price
- Delivery: "Within N days of paying"
- Revisions: how many rounds of changes are included
- License: Personal, Commercial or Extended. See Licenses for custom orders.
- Files: the file types you'll get
- A description of what's included, and sometimes a note from the shop
The section header says Valid until with the last day. Check the brief, files and license carefully, because the quote becomes your agreement when you pay.
Your options
- Accept and pay: see Pay for a custom order.
- Ask {shop name}: opens your conversation in Messages so you can ask questions first.
- Decline quote: closes the quote. Nothing is charged.
Decline a quote
- Open the request and select Decline quote.
- In Decline this quote?, choose a reason under Why?: Too expensive, Found another option, Don't need it anymore or Other.
- Select Decline quote.
If you chose Found another option or Don't need it anymore, your request closes. If you chose Too expensive or Other, the shop sees your reason and can send a different quote.
When a quote expires
If you don't pay within 7 days, the request becomes Expired with the note "The quote expired before it was paid. Nothing was charged." Esano emails you a reminder before it expires and again when it does.
To get another quote, open the request and select Ask {shop name} for a new quote. The shop has 3 days to reply.
When the shop declines or doesn't reply
- If the shop doesn't reply in 3 days, the request shows Expired and "{shop} wasn't able to reply in time. Nothing was charged."
- If the shop declines, you see its reason: Too busy right now, Not the kind of work I do, Can't meet the date or Other, and sometimes a note.
Either way, nothing is charged. Select Visit {shop name} to browse the shop, or find another shop.
Change your mind before a quote
While you're still Waiting for {shop name}, you can select Withdraw request. Esano tells the shop, the request closes and nothing is charged.
