Your first-sale card and next steps

Updated

After your shop's first paid sale, Overview can show a Your first sale card above the stats. It names what sold and suggests three next steps; the owner also sees the earnings and hold reminder.

Use the three next steps

Open Seller hub → Overview. The suggestions adapt to your shop:

  • Add a listing opens Listings. With at least 10 live listings, this changes to Write your About instead.
  • Copy your shop link copies your public shop address so you can share it.
  • Set it up opens Marketing → Discounts to set a bundle discount. If one is already on, this changes to Answer questions instead.

These are suggestions, not conditions for receiving your earnings. The hold, payout schedule, deductions and minimum still apply. For custom work, the hold begins at accessible final delivery. See the 14-day payout hold.

Who sees the card

The shop owner and Managers can see the card. Only the owner sees the earnings amount and can open the bundle-discount settings. A Manager sees a note that the owner turns that on in Marketing.

The first-sale email goes only to the owner and follows Sales in Seller hub → Settings → Emails. Turning that email off doesn't hide the card. See first-sale and later sale emails.

Close the card

Select the close button labelled Dismiss your first sale. Either the owner or a Manager can dismiss it, and it closes for everyone in the shop. There is no action to restore it.

The card also disappears after another paid sale or if the first order is fully refunded. Free claims don't count as another paid sale, and refunding the first sale does not restart the milestone.

Shops that already had paid sales before this feature was introduced do not receive a retrospective card. Check Orders for your sale history whether or not the card appears.

Common questions

Does turning off Sales emails remove the card?

No. The Overview card is separate from the shop's Sales email setting.

Can I bring the card back after closing it?

No. Dismissing it closes it for the whole shop, not only for your account.

Does a free claim count as my first sale?

No. The milestone uses your shop's first paid order with a nonzero item subtotal. A refund does not reset it.
