What the Commercial license allows

Updated

The Commercial license lets you use the files in client work and in products you sell, up to 5,000 units across all products. Credit to the shop is appreciated but not required.

Esano describes it as "Client work and products, up to 5,000 sales".

What you can do

  • Use the files in work you do for a client
  • Use the files in products you sell, as long as you stay within 5,000 units in total
  • Skip crediting the shop. Credit is appreciated but not required.

What you can't do

  • Sell more than 5,000 units across all products. For that, you need the Extended license.
  • Resell, share or redistribute the original files as they are
  • Put the files in a free pack or an AI training set

Those last two apply to every license. See Can I share or resell files I bought?.

How the 5,000 unit limit works

The limit is 5,000 units across all products. One shared count covers everything you make with the file. It isn't 5,000 per product.

Keep your own records of units sold so you know where you stand.

The Commercial license text doesn't mention print-on-demand. The Extended license is the one that names print-on-demand stores. If you sell through a print-on-demand store, choose Extended or ask the shop first. See Use Esano files for print-on-demand.

Is Commercial offered on every listing?

No. Every listing sells the Personal license. Shops choose whether to also offer Commercial. If a listing doesn't show it, you can ask the shop. If it does, pick it under Choose a license before you add the file to your cart.

Common questions

Do I have to credit the shop?

No. Credit is appreciated but not required.

Is the 5,000 limit per design?

No. The limit is 5,000 units across all products you make with the files, not 5,000 per product.
